Desert 64

"You probably know the old story that the gods first pored sand onto the Earth, then they got tired of it, and they generally flew from this planet," I explained. "Maybe on vacation, or they just wanted to have fun. So, in Ishim they believe that these gods have returned and are now continuing their work."
"Which is that they are trying in every way to get rid of the annoying pests that we are," Ilak chimed.
"I don't understand," Ghorm answered. "Why should they get rid of us?"

Ilak is a true pessimist! Does he ever say anything positive haha?  It is odd that he thinks that the gods have returned to get rid of their creation! Perhaps he might be right, though I hope not!

I just have a few comments...

Hi Ed! Thank you for your comment and corrections! I used the wrong word. Not "generally" but "quite" or "at all" maybe.

"You probably know the old story that the gods first pored poured sand onto the Earth, then they got tired of it, and they generally flew from this planet," I explained. (Not sure what you mean in this sentence) "Maybe on for/to go on vacation, or they just wanted to have fun. So, in Ishim they believe that these gods have returned and are now continuing their work."

"Which is that they are trying in every way to get rid of the annoying pests that we are," Ilak chimed.

Hi Kealin! Thank you for your comment! I referred to the beginning of the story. However, I already deleted it due to lack of space.
