Desert 90

A little farther Omah successfully fought off the enemies pushing at him. He already had two swords in his hands. He delivered crushing and swift strikes, keeping enemies at a respectful distance. Several corpses already lay around him. He's not such a simple guy, I thought. Maybe he was even the Master of Swords teaching in school before becoming the Chief Counselor, as I once was. Before me, there were only two crippled warriors, and the few moments that the enemies needed to get around them, I used to help Ilak.

A little farther Omah successfully fought off the enemies pushing at him. He already had two swords in his hands. He delivered crushing and swift strikes, keeping the enemies at a respectful safe distance ['respectful' implies that Omah was keeping his distance out of respect for his enemies!  'a safe distance' is better]. Several corpses already lay around him. He's not such a simple guy, I thought. Maybe he was could even have been the Master of Swords, teaching in school before becoming the Chief Counselor, as I had once been was. [I would use the past perfect here].  Before me, there were only two crippled warriors, and the few moments that the enemies needed to get around them, I used to help Ilak.

Good job, Oleks! Keep going!

A little farther (away), [comma needed] Omah successfully fought off the enemies pushing at him. He already had two swords in his hands. He delivered crushing and swift strikes, keeping the enemies at a respectful safe [Ros is right!] distance. Several corpses already lay around him. “He's not such a simple guy,” I thought. Maybe he was had even been the Master of Swords, [comma needed] (Are you suggesting he was or he could have been?) teaching in school before becoming the Chief Counselor, as I once was. Before me, there were only two crippled warriors; [Semicolon works better here] and throughout the few moments that the enemies needed to get around them, I used to help Ilak.

Hi Ali! Thank you for your corrections! I suggested that he was teaching. I need to insert "was" before "teaching", right?
