Tarot Cards 3

My first conscious encounter with Tarot cards took place about a year ago when my mother bought the book “Everyday Tarot Magic” by Dorothy Morrison with the accompanying deck of Tarot cards. Mom did not study the Tarot but instead presented the book and the deck to me.

My first ever encounter with tarot cards took place about a year ago. Alongside a deck of tarot cards, my mother bought me a book known as 'Everyday Tarot Magic" by Dorothy Morrison. Mom did not study the tarot herself, but thought that I would quite like to learn it.

Oleks - to improve your storytelling skills, try splitting your sentences into 'short bursts' to make it easier for your listener to follow what you're saying. Try not to repeat the same information; for example, at the end, you could present us with new information rather than saying that your mom bought the gift for you again.

Always remember to present the subject or theme of the sentence first if possible - e.g. 'Alongside a deck of tarot cards...'

Also, not sure if you are aware but we usually say 'mum' rather than 'mom' in the UK. 'Mom' is the American English spelling.

Thanks, Becky :)

Hi Becky! Thank you! Your advice is very helpful. Although my mum bought the book and cards for herself initially :)

Interesting that your Mum did not read the book she bought! Seems mad to buy a book and then give it to someone else! Do you think she will ever be interesting in learning about Tarot cards/magic?

Just a couple of comments

1. the Tarot - do you mean "the book" here?

2. Dorothy Morrison  - pronunciation of the surname "Morrison  "

HI Ed! Thank you for your comment! About Tarot, I meant the whole system. About bying the book. My mother first became interested in this system, but then she began to read the book and realized that this is not what she really needs. Although, perhaps, she had read the whole book, just for fun.
