Los perros de la raza Labrador tienen tendencia a la obesidad y con frecuencia sus dueños aseguran que siempre están pensando en comer.

Un nuevo estudio publicado en Cell Matabolism apunta a una variante genética como explicación a ese gusto desmedido por los alimentos.

Científicos de la Universidad de Cambridge (Reino Unido) han identificado una variación genética asociada con la obesidad y el apetito, lo que puede explicar por qué los labradores retriever tiene más posibilidades de ser obesos que los perros de otras razas.

El equipo de expertos trabajó con una muestra de 310 labradores tanto mascotas como perros de asistencia -para guiar a personas ciegas o en labores de rescate- para buscar en ellos variantes de tres genes relacionados con la obesidad.

Los investigadores descubrieron que una variante de un gen conocido como POMC estaba “fuertemente relacionada con el peso, la obesidad y el apetito en los labradores y en los retrievers de pelo liso”.

Muchas gracias Juan! Esto es muy util para mi y me va a servir mucho :-) . Como la ultima Vez, voy a escuchar tu grabacion (cada dia cuando tengo tiempo libre) y despues voy a tratar de imitarte (la semana que viene en Lingora ) asi que voy mejorando en como habo espanol :)
