The European Union increased their effort to have South Korea sign four out of the eight International Labour Organization conventions. This would improve protection for temporary workers, UN Employment Policy Department Director Lee sang-hyon said. The director expressed ratifying conventions would free laborers of hurdles in expressing their voice. He also voiced that signing it would merely be the start, not the end. The conventions that South Korea has not signed are abolition of forced labour, freedom of accociation, protection of the right to organise, and the right to collective bargaining. Hi Bananap. Good job! I could not read the article, however, I could understand the new from your article very well. Here are some suggestions for your text.

The European Union has (Since a specific time is not mentioned and we are referring to the effects of the action.) increased their effort to have South Korea sign four out of the eight International Labour Organization conventions. “This would improve protection for temporary workers,” said UN Employment Policy Department Director Lee sang-hyon. The director expressed that ratifying conventions would free laborers of from hurdles in when expressing their voice. He also voiced that signing it would merely be the starting point, not the end. The conventions that South Korea has not signed are abolition of forced labour, freedom of association, protection of the right to organise, and the right to collective bargaining. While the Korean Federation of Trade Unions has waged a strike pressuring the government to sign the conventions, the Korea Employers Federation looks for ways to limit collective bargaining and protesting rights. Lee stated most of the serious industrial accidents involve temporary, contract workers. The death of a subcontracted worker brought the atrocious working conditions of the irregular workers in the limelight. According to a representative of the main opposition party, the Liberty Korea Party, of the 348 workers injured working at five of the main power plants in Korea, 97.7 percent were subcontracted workers.

Hello again Bananap.  A very well-written article so well done.  Aliakbar has also done a great job at picking up the (very few) points which needed amending.

I would just change the tense in this sentence as follows:  While the Korean Federation of Trade Unions has waged a strike pressuring the government to sign the conventions, the Korea Employers Federation is looking for ways to limit collective bargaining and protesting rights.

I would also say "brought the atrocious working conditions of the irregular workers into the limelight"

Oh and you had a typo with "accociation" which should have been "association"!!

Excellent work though!  Keep posting!

Ros

Not many corrections here, so well done!

I'll correct the text with another colour, look out for punctuation marks, that is mostly what I noticed really and maybe one word that's misspelled.

Hi,

I would probably flip the structure of your second sentence to read: Lee Sang-hyon, the UN Employment Policy Department Director, said that if South Korea to sign these coventions, "this would improve protection for temporary workers".

Thanks,

Becky :)
