Emotional Intelligence: We really need to know ourselves

Emotional intelligence appears to be about how well we know and manage ourselves while interact with the others. Consequently, we need self and social awareness in order to be able of self and social management.

I strongly recommend to use it especially in the job so as not find ourselves trapped in unnecessary struggles, e.g don’t start making faces when your boss is talking about job issues, it won’t end well.

It would be advisable to use it, for example, in order to calm down another’s office director after one of us screwed up the things, by saying - and showing: “we are sorry, your office’s job is very important for us, we really appreciate and need you”, until we could find the way to fix the problem.

In general, since unnecessary issues wanted to be avoided, therefore smarter human interaction ways needed to be learnt, and to achieve that goal we need to start by knowing ourselves.

Hi Adrian. That is a marvelous piece of writing. I am impressed with how much your writing skills have improved. I strongly agree with you on the subject. In today’s world, knowing and controlling our emotions is of the utmost importance. The reason for that is that our emotions are constantly being affected by different factors and people and we need to handle them on a daily basis in order to keep our body and mind healthy.

Regarding your text, I have rewritten it and pointed out some of the things you can modify to make it a bit better, please take a look and ask me any questions that might pop into your head.

Emotional Intelligence: We Really Need to Know Ourselves

Emotional intelligence appears to be about how well we know and manage ourselves while interacting with the others (also “other people”). Consequently, we need self and social awareness in order to be able of to perform self and social management.

I strongly recommend to use using it especially in on the job so as not to find ourselves trapped in unnecessary struggles, e.g don’t start not making faces when your boss is talking about job issues, it won’t end well.

It would be advisable to use it, for example, in order to calm down another’s an office director after one of us screwed up the things, by saying - and showing: “We are sorry, your office’s job what you do here is very important for us, we really appreciate and need you”, until we could find the way to fix the problem.

In general, since unnecessary issues wanted were to be avoided, therefore, smarter ways of human interaction ways were needed to be learned, and to achieve that goal, we need to start by knowing ourselves.

Keep up the good work! Good luck!

Hi Adrian

Lovely piece of writing as usual!  Aliakbar has done a great job in reviewing it.  I just have a couple of other things....

It's fine to say "Don't start" but just say "Don't start making faces".  It's a good idiom to use here!

I would say "until we find way to fix the problem".  I would also say "calm" not "calm down".  We say "He needs to calm down" or just as an imperative:  "Calm down!" but in the sentence construction you are using I would just say "calm" or even "pacify".

I would say "screwed things up" rather than "screwed up things".

I would keep to the present tense in the final paragraph:  "In general, since if unnecessary issues are to be avoided, therefore smarter human interaction ways needed to be learnt, and to achieve that goal we need to start by knowing ourselves."

Hello Adrian,

That was yet another fantastic, thought-provoking piece of writing. Emotionally intelligent people (in my opinion) are the best leaders / managers. It is a shame that many managers / leaders I have come across are not at all emotionally intelligent.

With regards to your writing skills, I am very impressed. You are making a lot of progress and all you need to do is make sure you keep practicing.

Ros and Aliakbar have done a great job of evaluating your text.

I would add the following.

1. "while interact with the others" When referring to "other people" you do not need the article "the". So you would write it like this "while interacting with others".

2. "job issues" - This sounds a bit clumsy. I would (instead) use a phrase like "work-related problems / issues"

Very well done smiley and looking forward to more of your engaging writing!
