Self-driving cars

I definitely agree with that statement.

I live actually in Paris I everyday almost see and hear of terrible accidents on the roads, they are always caused by drivers who are either driving too fast, either who are drunk, either who have ingested medication which stops them to be alerte or drivers who are simply negligent who do not verify their mirrors before making a turn for example. Although the computers can make mistakes and function badly from time to time they are generally more reliable. I think therefore that accident rates will become more reduced the more self-driving cars we have on our roads.

I think that it will be unfortunate that a lot of people will no longer have jobs because self-driving cars will replace their functions. But this is the reality: I work in banking and finance and all the time I see computers who are capable to do traditional human tasks. Because of these intelligent machines who are more efficient and faster than the humans, the companies need employ constantly less and less people. It is very worrying. I don't know how will cope the society.

Very easy to read and understand. You have a little trouble with adverb placement. "I live actually in Paris" should be "I actually live in Paris" "I everyday almost see and hear" should be "I see and hear almost every day". With a list of possible situations, we don't usually repeat "either" -- just use it once with the first, then use commas between the others, and "or" on the last one.

'will become more reduced" would be better as "will be reduced", or you could even use "would be reduced" depending on how forcefully you wanted to assert your opinion.

Nice work :)

I agree with Turlupine - very easy to understand.  A few points - when referring to computers in general - it's ok to leave the article (the) out here.  Also, when talking about things like computers for example use "which" not "who".  Use the gerund form of the verb after "stops" - "which stops them being alert".  We would normally say "check their mirrors" rather than "verify". Try saying "Companies will need to employ less and less people".  After "need" we need the infinitive "to employ".  Finally, try changing the order of the last sentence to "I don't know how society will cope".  Society refers to all of society.  If we use "the" it changes the meaning to a specific group or society.

However, I easily understood every word and these are just "tweaks"!

Warm regards

Ros

Thank you too :)

So I must to remember use "which" and not "who" when I talk about objects. Can I use "which " and "that"? How I know when I use "which" and when I should use "that" in English?

I also don't know when I should use "check" and when I should use "verify" in English. Can you explain me more perhaps?

I see. So for animals we say "that" but if they are dogs we say "who". So for my cat I say "that" when I speak of her?

I made a mistake!  Either .., or should be used for two alternatives — "either drunk or onhave ingested medicines ...". For more than two alternatives, use "who are drunk, have ingested medicines, or are simply negligent."  Note the comma after "medicines". That is a controversy! The British use it, but some Americans say it should not be used. In French, it is usually omitted

This text editor is hard to use!

Some of these comments are super confusing! Who/that are not animate/inanimate contrasts. You could easily say "That man that came up to the house..." Or "That dog that bit me.." in fact, I almost never use "who" outside of a question in everyday speech. You can just about always go with "that" unless you really want to know who did something. In writing that is more formal you need it more often. It is only for people, unless you are personifying the animal like in a children's story.

Hi! great attempt. I could understand everything you wrote, but there are some things that need amending so it makes more sense in English:

I live actually in Paris --> I actually live in Paris - or just - I live in Paris

I everyday almost see and hear of terrible accidents on the roads --> almost everyday I see and hear of terrible accidents on the roads

either driving too fast, either who are drunk, either who.... --> iether driving too fast, are drunk, have ingested medication (you just write "either" at the start and follow the list with commas as in my correction)

alerte - typo? correct is alert

who do not verify their mirrors before making a turn for example. --> just add a comma after a turn --> a turn, for example.

Although the computers can make mistakes --> although computers...(no "the" needed here)

accident rates will become more reduced  --> accident rates will reduce; accident rates will decrease.

who are more efficient and faster than the humans --> which are more efficient and faster than humans

the companies need employ constantly less and less people. --> the companies are constantly employing less and less people.

I don't know how will cope the society. --> I don't know how society will cope.

Excellent work, Maxime. Also, I like the subject since I am interested in new technologies. Regarding your text, here is a rewritten version. You can compare it to the original and try to keep in mind the improvements that are pointed out.

I definitely agree with that statement.

I live in Paris. Almost every day, I see and hear of terrible accidents on the roads, they are always caused by drivers who are either driving too fast, who are drunk, who have ingested medication which stops them to be alert or drivers who are simply negligent who do not verify their mirrors before making a turn, for example. Although computers can make mistakes and malfunction from time to time, they are generally more reliable. I, therefore, think that accident rates will be reduced as more self-driving cars are used.

I think that it will be unfortunate that a lot of people will no longer have jobs because self-driving cars will replace them. But this is the reality: I work in banking and finance and all the time I see computers which are capable of doing traditional human tasks. Because of these intelligent machines who are more efficient and faster than humans, companies need to gradually employ fewer people. It is very worrisome. I don't know how will society will cope with it.

Keep it up! Keep posting and improving!
