Be confident in English !

Dear All,

Nice to e-meet you!

I want to improve my English, I want to improve my vocabulary and I like "to be able " to say something coherent, correct and fluent in English.

I attend seminaries and courses ( professionals field or hobbies  ) and many lecturers/teachers speak in English. Sometimes I do not understand, sometimes I understand  15%-20%. very little; My vocabulary is limited and I do not know the elementary rules of grammar.

Thank you,

Daniela

Hi Daniela, well done! Nice to e-meet you, too! You seem to already be knowing English well because you have written this letter. That’s great! Now, all you have to do is improve your English skills and become proficient. If you consistently practice, it will happen in no time. I encourage you to keep posting text and audio on Lingora to get them evaluated and find out how you can improve your English. Here is a rewritten version of your letter. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Dear All,

Nice to e-meet you!

I want to improve my English. [period needed because the sentence is finished] I want to improve my vocabulary and I like "to be able " to say something coherent, correct and fluent in English.

I attend seminars seminaries and courses (specialized or general [Is this what you mean?] professionals field or hobbies  ) and many lectures/speeches lecturers/teachers speak in English. Sometimes I do not understand anything, sometimes I understand  15%-20% which is very little. [Sentence ends here] My vocabulary is limited and I do not know the elementary rules of grammar.

Thank you,

Daniela

Keep it up!

Hi Daniela.

Great to have you here! As Aliakbar said, Lingora is the perfect place for you to improve your writing and speaking skills. My advice would be for you to keep a diary on Lingora. Each day, you could login to the site and add a text or an audio where you talk about your day and your plans. English speakers will then provide you with comprehensive feedback on your writing and speaking skills for free! How does that sound? If you would like to make even more progress in a shorter space of time with English, I would advise you to consider getting a private tutor. Have a look here.

When it comes to learning the rules of grammar, I would highly recommend this site: https://learnenglish.britishcouncil.org/grammar/beginner-to-pre-intermediate

With regards to your letter, Aliakbar has done a great job of evaluating it. I just have the following points to add

  • Nice to e-meet you!  - Nice to meet you!

  • and I like "to be able " to say something coherent, correct and fluent in English. - and I would [use "would" when you imagine a situation] like  "to be able " to say something coherent, correct and fluent in English. ["say something" is not grammatically wrong. However, it sounds a bit strange to me. I would rephrase it to something like "I would like to be able to speak coherently, correctly and fluently in English".]
