Holidays

Well, generally with friends I go out or watch a movie, we plan a hangout on our day off and go to a cafe or a restaurant depending on the weather and the mood ofcourse. Sometimes we watch an anticipated movie together. My family on the other hand usually likes totravel on holidays, we plan the holiday destination months before. For instance, two weeks ago we planned a trip to Dubai, a city in UAE. It was a week long trip and we were all very excited to go. We decided to travel by plane even though it was a 1000 kilometers away and we could manage to go there by car, mainly because we would be very tired by the time we would reach our destination. Therefore we chose to fly there. We reached Dubai in about 4 hours. We got to our hotel and rested for roughly half an hour and the headed for sightseeing. After a while we got hungry and went to a nice restaurant to try their native cusine which was delicious. The nect day we went to see the dancing fountains infront of Burj Khalifa, the tallest skyscraper of the world.

Hi Tehreem,

I would love to go to Dubai. What was the food like there? You said it was delicious but what exactly did you eat when you went to the restaurant?

Your spoken and written English is so impressive yes. It is hard  for me  to find things for you to work on smiley

Here are just some observations

1. Well, generally with friends I go out or watch a movie. (put a full-stop here) We plan to get together / to hang out on our day off and go to a cafe or a restaurant, depending on the weather and the mood / how we feel of course.

2. an anticipated movie together. - a movie we have all been wanting to see. (the phrase "anticipated movie" is not grammatically wrong but it sounds a bit strange)

3. likes to go on holiday (we don't travel on holiday, we go on holiday)

4. . We decided to travel by plane even though it was a 1000 kilometres away and we could manage to go there by car, mainly because we would be very tired by the time we would reach our destination (This sentence is too long in my opinion and needs to be broken down. . We decided to travel by plane, even though it was 1000 kilometres away. We could have managed to get there by car / could have driven there but we would have been very tired by the time we got there)

5. We reached Dubai in about 4 hours.  - It took about 4 hours to get to Dubai / The flight took 4 hours.

6. headed out to do some sightseeing. (In English, you head out to do something)

7. the tallest skyscraper of the world. - the tallest skyscraper in the world.

Hi Tehreem. Great job! Yes your English sounds very good. Continue to practice new vocabulary and how they fit in various text. For this text I would just recommend double checking your spacing on some words and breaking up some of the long sentences. Sometimes it can be tricky to know when a sentence is too long. A good rule to go by is for sentences to be around 15-20 words. You do not have to be strict with this rule but when you start to express a new thought, start a new sentence.
